Student’s Accommodation in the heart of DIAC
Al Ansari Housing Education Sector Overview: Education is seen as the key enabler in the context of the wide range of socio-economic challenges facing the country in the decades ahead. At present, the UAE offers a comprehensive education to male and female students from kindergarten to university, with education for the country's citizens being provided free at all levels. There is also an extensive private education sector at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, while several thousand students of both sexes pursue courses of higher education abroad at government expense. Despite the successes achieved in the educational field, the reality is that in a country where the national population is overwhelmingly youthful, it is imperative that the educational system is reformed to produce employable national graduates. Government strategy is now focusing on improving education standards, decentralisation of the educational system and the more active involvement of the private sector in the delivery of high-quality education being key components of educational policy The UAE has a diversified system of higher education. A wide range of private universities and institutions, many accredited to or linked with international bodies, offer educational opportunities to Emiratis and other nationalities.
Plans for Dubai Academic City (DIAC) began in February 2002 and the knowledge cluster was inaugurated in October 2003 with six universities from four different countries and just over2500 students. A year later DIAC's academic community had grown 150% to 15 universities from nine different countries, and its student population had grown 140% to over 6,000. There are currently over 30 international universities of higher learning in Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City from diverse regions including the U.S, Australia, India, Pakistan, Iran, France, Russia, U.K and Sri Lanka operating out of DIAC, catering to over 16,000students.
